Cook’s tour

Years ago during a visit to Tybee Island I came across a handy guide for walking around the town and visiting some of the historical sites to be found there. Tybee is a unique place and I still have that tour guide and, even though I haven’t been back in a while, I can revisit it by simply leafing through that booklet. It also inspired me to do some kind of walking tour of Abingdon, where I was living at the time. An idea that has been fifteen years in the making, AbingdonWalks, is a celebration of and an homage to another unique place.

There are 15 pages in all, starting with the Introduction. Or you can choose one of the Categories listed below to begin exploring the site. For a closer inspection of Abingdon’s Historic District and environs visit the “AbingdonWalks” Omeka Exhibit.
